Talent Management is defined by the CIPD as “the systematic attraction, identification, development, engagement, retention and deployment of individuals who are of particular value to the organisation”.
So what is talent? .. often recognised as individuals who can make a difference to the performance of an organisation. This can be through an immediate contribution or demonstrating potential for the future.
There is a strong business case for organisations to take a strategic approach to support future organisational sustainability, growth and as part of maintaining a competitive advantage.
The question of how best to approach talent management is one that is subject to much debate as organisations face the decision whether to develop the skills of their existing staff or do they buy in new skills by bringing new talent in from outside of the organisation?
Join the HR team on Thursday 30th June 2016 at 8am, when they will be considering this question and discussing the pros and cons of each approach.
